2 Lies We Believe After We Sin

So you find yourself messing up after going about a week from doing “it” again. No matter what you just can’t seem to stop doing “it” and you feel so bad.

Maybe your mess is watching porn, looking at pictures or maybe something like lying. Whatever your mess is know that it’s ok to not be ok but it’s not ok to stay that way. It’s alright to have struggles but it’s even better to fight against them.

2 Lies We Believe After We Sin

  1. I Am A Failure

Sinning does not make us a failure it makes us broken.

It makes us realize just how broken we really are and we can’t make it on our own but with Jesus we can.

Giving into sin is not good and it gives Satan a foothold on our life. Once he has that foothold he will tempt us over and over trying to get us to give in.

No matter what sin it is know that you are not a failure. God loves you and sinning does not make you a failure.

Truth #1

When Satan reminds you of your past remind him of his future.

No thing you did in your past is greater than the love that God has for you and the future that awaits Satan. Remind yourself of this verse:

“For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord: plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

2. I Can’t Be Used Anymore

Let me tell you a secret; the only people God uses in the Bible is broken and sinful people.

David slept with another woman, Paul killed thousands, Peter denied God! There are many more but what could you have possibly done that would make you useless to God?

Scars don’t make you imperfect,  scars mark you as healed.

In fact he wants to use the very thing that is harming you for good. “For what you tried to harm me with God intended it for good to accomplish the saving of many lives.” (Genesis 50:20)

Truth #2

Just because we mess up doesn’t make us useless. In fact it makes us realize just how broken we are! That’s who God uses is the broken not the proud or boastful.

Sinning doesn’t invalidate us from being used by God, it validates us to be used by him.

What Next Steps Can You Take?

Maybe you have an area where you are struggling and you can’t stop giving in. I would encourage you to reach out and get some help with that TODAY. Not tomorrow because tomorrow never happens when you say you’ll do it. TODAY is the day to confess and set the course of freedom.
